Curative Therapies

Curative therapy is a time-limited treatment that removes the symptoms of a disease through permanent (or semi-permanent) correction of the underlying condition. In contrast, a pill that a patient needs to take for the rest of their life to manage symptoms or disease progression is not curative. Curative treatments have the potential to lower the overall impact and cost that particular diseases have on healthcare systems, as they eliminate the need for long-term chronic care. This will change the way we treat patients and impact how healthcare providers organize care and its delivery.
